- Lie down on your back and with your knees slightly bent.
- Lift up your head and put your hands directly behind your head. Do not lock your fingers together.
- Now twist to your right and bring your left elbow over and to your right knee. While you are doing this extend the left leg out.
- Twist again back to your left and bring the right elbow over and to your left knee. While you are doing this extend the right leg out.
- Repeat 20 times.
Standing Trunk Twists
Standing trunk twists are great exercises for love handles because they target the side abdominals and give them a great stretch too.
- Start in a standing position with your feet at about one foot apart and your knees relaxed.
- Now twist your torso to your left while you are keeping your hips and your legs stable. Now as you are twisting to your left, cross the right arm out and in front of your body and into a punching like motion.
- Now twist back to your right and cross your left arm over your body into a punching like motion.
- Try to do 100 repetitions (combined left and right).
