Motivational Secrets For You To Lose Weight Exercising

Let's just say that if it were easy, everyone would be doing it! You've probably heard that one before but if you truly think about it, it makes sense. I'm not sure about you but I know that I have numerous areas that tend to get larger and not smaller as time goes by and I struggle to try and find ways to keep my weight down. I am going to tell you something right now that I believe to be the 100% truth to this matter. For you to lose weight exercising is actually the easy part... now let's talk about the difficult piece.
Ever Had "Lack Of Motivation" Syndrome?
If you really think about losing weight, the toughest part is actually motivating yourself to do something about it. If you can master the ability to motivate yourself, then you are going to be way ahead of the pack when it comes to getting results. Let's review some of the techniques that I have used to help get me going, but I also want to emphasise that these are not the only ways. Each of you will have to come up with your own list through trial and error.
My Top 5 List Of Motivators
1. Listen to your favourite music - I'm going to tell you right now folks that there is power in music. Music helps take you to the places that you want to go and can literally give you tonnes of energy. Not sure if you are quite up to that interval training workout tonight? No problem, just get some fast paced music going and trust me, you will feel the energy.
2. Have a television in your workout area - This one seems simple enough but you would be surprised at the number of home gyms that don't have a television set. With a TV, you can allow yourself to actually feel good about watching it. Turn on your favourite movie or show and you are going to forget that you are even trying to lose weight exercising.
3. If you workout at home, make the space relaxing - OK, this is another important one that gets abused all too often. Just think about it; is it really motivating and does it get you excited to go down to a basement gym that is dark, humid and musty smelling. You have to make your home gym a place that feels good and one that makes you want to go and spend time in. One great technique that has worked for others is to hang some motivational pictures on the walls. Try it, they work great.
4. Switch it up - Who likes doing the same thing over and over and over again. There is nothing better at spoiling motivation than boredom. Keep your workouts interesting by changing them up every 4 weeks. Trust me on this, you will see a lot more results as well because this technique will help you stay away from those dreaded plateaus where your body gets used to doing something so figures it has no more need to grow or work. Change keeps your body guessing and you interested.
5. Let your family know what days of the week you workout - Now you may be thinking to yourself "what could this possibly have to do with motivation"? By informing others of your plans, they are going to be a lot more cognisant of scheduling your time on those days. It takes the pressure off of you when you don't have to make a decision about working out versus doing something else. Informing others also kind of pressures you (in a good way) to actually keep your workout because now everyone else knows that is your time. They have avoided scheduling things for you so respect them as well and make sure that you keep your workout appointment.
You Deserve It
So take another minute to go back and read through what was just presented to you. You'll notice that there is really nothing complicated about any of this stuff but the only way that it is going to work for you and allow you to lose weight exercising is by following these techniques. You deserve to reach your goals so get started today and get that momentum train rolling. Good luck.
