Let me explain, your liver has a variety of functions it handles Digestion and Metabolism, Toxin Filtration, Blood Clotting, helps regulate blood sugar, and removes many toxins from your body. Your liver constantly works for you to keep you healthy in many ways you may have never thought of.
Digestion:
Your liver creates a compound or chemical called "bile" bile is released from liver it is a liquid that contains bile salts, waste products, and cholesterol. Bile is released from your gallbladder then moves to your liver into your small intestine to help with digestion of fats. After eating a meal high in fats and oils such as pizza, hamburger, bacon, meatloaf; it is nice to have a cold glass of water or soda right? Try to avoid drinking cold beverages because it solidifies oils and fats, there for your body will take longer to digest those foods and will store the fats.
Metabolism:

Blood Clotting
The liver helps with blood clotting by using proteins called prothrombin, fibrinogen, if you cut yourself this is what stops bleeding. Both proteins are formed in the liver and then sent to the area of injury when needed. Taking blood thinners will decrease blood clotting there for you will bleed longer than usual.
