There are many books, articles, and videos available on the internet that can help one lose weight fast. It is in fact a multi-million dollar industry with all those new and improved diet pills, exercise machines, and slimming belts available on the market. All individuals have something different to say and they believe their method would bring about the greatest results or cause the greatest amount of weight loss. However, there are certain methods, which you should completely avoid and keep a distance from. They may seem harmless, attractive, and more appealing compared to the rough and tough machines, but they can be highly detrimental for the body. Such methods may even cause long-term damage to the body if one is not cautious.
Starving/Skipping meals:
For those who have carried out proper research before undergoing a weight loss regime, they will know that starvation is absolutely one of the worst things that individuals can do to themselves. Not only does it lead to binging on later meals, but it also causes a decrease in energy levels. It is also not a good way to sustain long-term weight loss as without a healthy diet and exercise plan in place, one can easily fall off the bandwagon again.
Throwing up after a meal:
This is a very common practice one hears about in the fashion industry. While it may be true, throwing up after every meal can be a very unhealthy practice to do. The body needs food for energy, and when you deprive it of that, it can be very dangerous for health. It has the same effects as starvation, or skipping a meal. However, if this habit is not properly controlled, it may eventually lead to a serious health issue and pave the path for a disease like anorexia or bulimia; both of which can result in death if left untreated.
Deprivation:
Although many diet plans for weight loss require the person to stay away from fatty, oily, and sugary foods, it is not a good act to deprive oneself completely from something. Thus, one can eat sweets or sugary snacks as long as it's in limited proportions and the extra calories are accounted for. Also, it is not healthy to restrict one's diet to only one type of food. Our body has different nutritional requirements and not all of these can be fulfilled by just consuming vegetables. Hence, occasional cheat meals can be beneficial in terms of motivation and building determination.
